Executive chef at London's 45 Park Lane Hotel Jamie Shears is set to take on the same role at the Audley in May, in preparation for its launch in the autumn

Last year, the historical site, set in the Grade-II listed, five storey building in Mayfair, was rented out to world-famous art dealers Iwan and Manuela Wirth, owners of the Artfarm hospitality company behind the Fife Arms, Roth Bar and Grill restaurant in Bruton Somerset, and Manuelas in LA.

At the time, they confirmed that they would be working with former Fortnum & Mason chief executive Ewan Venters, the chief executive of Hauser & Wirth since September 2020, to install a restaurant with rooms and to restore many of The Audley’s original features lost to bomb damage in World War II.

The chef will leave his position at 45 Park Lane hotel in May, to be replaced by the former executive chef at Duck & Waffle, Elliott Grover, and will spend the summer preparing to open the ground floor pub, first floor fine-dining restaurant and private dining/events spaces in the autumn.

Confirming the news on social media, with support from across the hospitality industry, Jamie said: "I am pleased and excited to confirm that I will be taking the position of executive chef of The Audley due to open in the [autumn]."
