Series 16 of MasterChef: The Professionals will air for six weeks on BBC One from the 23rd October 2023. The previous series (series 15) was shown on BBC One in November and December 2022.

Judges, guest chefs, food critics, chef contestants
In series 16, Monica Galetti returns with Marcus Wareing after stepping down as judge in 2022, with the pair joined by host Greg Wallace, as well as a selection of Britain's best known food critics.
The previous series included William Sitwell, Grace Dent, Jimi Famurewa, Tom Parker-Bowles, Tracey MacLeodand Jay Rayner.
Guest chef judges have either come into the MasterChef studios to challenge the chefs, or invited contestants to cook in their restaurants, including Jean-Philllipe Blondet, Gareth Ward, Andrew Wong, Aktar Islam, Matt Abé, Sally Abé, Michael Caines, Jun Tanaka, Niall Keating, Daniel Clifford and Anna Haugh.

The start date for series 16 of MasterChef: The Professionals is Monday 23rd October 2023.
MasterChef: The Professionals 2023 will start on the 23rd October with three episodes airing each week.
It's expected that there will be four weeks of heats, followed by the semi-finals and finals.

Who is taking part in MasterChef: The Professionals 2023?
The contestants taking part in MasterChef: The Professionals 2023 are yet to be announced but will feature thirty-two chefs selected from across the country.
Junior sous chef at Kitchen W8, Nikita Pathakji beat her fellow finalists, Sagar Massey, and Charlie Jeffreys, to become the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2022.
Private chef and UCB graduate Daniel Lee beat his fellow finalists Aaron Middleton and Liam Rogers to become the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2021.
Alex Webb won MasterChef:The Professionals 2020.
Of the 32 professional chefs who entered the MasterChef kitchen, the following four made it to the finals: head chef of Vivek Singh's Cinammon Collection, Santosh Shah; Chef and founder of food consultancy business Nutshell Food Consultants, Philli Armitage-Mattin; private chef Bart van der Lee and former head chef at Square 1 Restaurant and Catering in Dunmow, Alex Webb.
Stuart 'Stu' Deeley, formerly the head chef at The Wilderness in Birmingham, won the MasterChef: The Professionals 2019 competition. Stu's project to open his own restaurant in his home city was delayed because of coronavirus, and then saw him take on a role as development chef at Hampton Manor's one Michelin star restaurant, Peel's. During lockdown, Stu collaborated with his mentor and former chef Luke Tipping to create Stu Deeley at Home delivery kits.
Laurence Henry, former sous chef at two Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains won MasterChef: The Professionals 2018.
