Oliver Harvey Announce Sponsorship of the Asian Junior Chefs Challenge

Oliver Harvey is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the inaugural event of the Asian Junior Chefs Challenge. This brand new event, taking place at Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5, brings together students from all other the country and challenges them to make the best 4 course meal based on pan Asian cuisine.
At Oliver Harvey we are passionate about young British chefs and we know how big a part Asian cuisine plays in the UK food industry with some estimates stating it is worth up to £2.5 billion per annum. Ensuring that up and coming chefs have an interest in Asian cuisine is vital in securing the best talent for the sector and in order to maintain Britain’s excellent reputation for its diverse, high quality food offering.
The challenge will entail teams, each made up of three students, displaying their creativity, technical experience and knowledge as they work together to prepare an elaborate 4 course meal made up of the finest pan Asian ingredients. In order to demonstrate their understanding of the food that they are preparing, the teams must also create a presentation that explains their ingredient sourcing, the cultural impact of their food and the sustainability of their dishes.
Oliver Harvey is delighted to provide our British manufactured chef jackets to these inspirational young chefs and hope that they can emulate their industry role models by cooking in some of the finest chefs clothing available. Every chef that gets to the final cook off will take home a chefs jacket as well as a certificate and tickets to the final awards ceremony. Meanwhile the lucky winners will be flown to India for a week’s culinary journey through Delhi, Poona and Bombay where they will see the roots of British-Asian cuisine and no doubt be inspired to further advance the Asian food industry in the UK.
