An Exquisite English Afternoon Tea at Hawkstone Hall & Gardens

Hawkstone Hall & Gardens, a magnificent Grade I listed 18th Century mansion, set within 88 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, has just opened its doors to guests wishing to enjoy an Afternoon Tea in a stunning setting.

Guests approach the stunning Georgian property via a mile-long gravel driveway. Upon arrival, imposing double doors reveal a magnificent main hall boasting high sculpted ceilings, rich drapes and beautiful antique furniture. The building itself is a true masterpiece, overflowing with romance and boasting floor-to-ceiling windows that invite an abundance of natural light into the space.

The hotel offers an innovative variety of Afternoon Tea’s to cater to all tastes, served daily:

Traditional Afternoon Tea
The Traditional Afternoon Tea includes an array of delicate finger sandwiches such as fresh cucumber, rocket and cream cheese; chicken and avocado; poached salmon and dill; and hand-carved ham with English mustard.

The chefs have also created indulgent delights fresh from the pastry kitchen. These include chocolate layer cake; lemon choux buns; pistachio terrine; orchid apple tart; and passion fruit mousse with a fruity raspberry glaze.

All served with heavenly homemade warm fruit and plain scones, served with cream and raspberry jam. Priced at £29.95 per guest.

Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea
If dainty finger sandwiches are not your thing, Hawkstone Hall & Gardens has created the perfect Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea to enjoy after a morning stroll in the countryside. Scrumptious delights include smokey spiced nuts; Parma ham with garlic & olive oil infused bruschetta; crispy beef scotch egg, with a perfect yolk; and millionaire caramel chocolate tart.

Served along with a selection of award winning loose leaf teas or freshly brewed coffee, and priced at £29.95 per guest.

Guilt-Free Afternoon Tea
For those who wish to enjoy a deliciously nutritious Afternoon Tea, the chef’s at Hawkstone Hall have created a variety of whole-food recipes, made entirely without gluten, grains or refined sugar. Guests can indulge in recipes such as avocado and smoked salmon and delicate crisp bread; heritage tomatoes with a feta basil salad; detox carrot and ginger juice; and carved honey roasted Ham with cottage cheese served on a tapioca loaf. Sweets include indulgent dark chocolate and peanut butter bites; and freshly baked coconut and vanilla scones with cashew cream and raspberry chia jam.

Priced at £32.95 per guest, this healthy and nutritionally balanced offering is the first of its kind in the area.

For guests wishing to take a post-tea wander, within its grounds the estate boasts a rose garden, croquet lawn, apple orchard, ancient cemetery, original 18th Century lily pond, walled garden, river with a quaint stone bridge, forested areas, over half a mile of footpaths and a wonderfully romantic ‘secret garden’.
