“We are committed to developing this group of businesses”
The Holland Group, which includes The Angel – Taste of Devon Restaurant, Platform 1 Champagne Bar & Restaurant, Holland Leisure Retail and Dartside Holiday apartments, have announced a new senior management team.
Based in Dartmouth, the group has recently appointed James Pike as Group General Manager, Csaba Adamy as Operations Manager, and Head Chef of the Angel - Taste of Devon, Elly Wentworth, is promoted to Executive Chef for the group.
This new management structure will ensure the longevity as well as further growth of an already successful group of businesses located in one of the most famous and picturesque parts of Devon.
In 2023, the newly formed senior team will be working collectively on creating a new brand for the Platform 1 site, a historical gem and previously a Great Western Railway ticket office.
The site will be transformed into an all-day dining bistro that will be a destination venue, with a fantastic bar and quality takeaway offering in a particularly busy location on Dartmouth Harbour.
They plan to strengthen the legacy started by pioneering chef Joyce Molyneaux by further developing The Angel - Taste of Devon working collectively towards gaining a Michelin star.
Group General Manager James Pike commented: “We are incredibly grateful that we have the keys to a group of wonderfully located businesses that owners John and Bessie Holland had worked incredibly hard to build over a number of years.”
James added: “With a sensitive approach to their legacy, we are committed to developing this group of businesses which are both literally and metaphorically at the heart of this super community.”
James who will now head the group is a senior hospitality operator specialising in multi-faceted businesses. Previously an Ace Robyn winner has worked for many high-profile businesses including hospitality & events specialist Green and Fortune where he played a key role in significant business growth across multiple high profile London venues, as part of their senior team.
To maximise the quality of the premium sites, a new role of Operations Manager has been created for the talented Csaba Adamy.
Csaba, a trained sommelier has an illustrious hospitality background including 2 Michelin starred L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon as well as working with celebrated chefs Mitch Tonks at his Seahorse restaurant in Dartmouth and Michelin starred chef John Burton Race at The New Angel Notting Hill.
Csaba has a clear work ethic to provide memorable experiences and a determination to create industry leading hospitality for guests and employees alike.
Head Chef of the Angel, Elly has honed her craft in this historic restaurant since 2018. She is arguably one of the most skilled female chefs in the UK right now, her huge personality brimming with humour and charm.
Previously Elly was a finalist in the acclaimed TV series MasterChef: The Professionals, and twice a competitor on Great British Menu.
Elly was also a winner of a Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Awards of Excellence. She continues to serve up exquisitely presented dishes using sustainable and locally sourced produce.
Elly now takes on Executive Chef for the group to transfer her incredible food skills and ideas for the best cuisines across the exciting portfolio of businesses.
