The Ledbury makes top 50 of Opinionated About Dining Europe 2020 list

Opinionated About Dining has published its annual ranking of European restaurants, and 8 UK restaurants made it into the top 100. 

Top of the list was Sweden's Restaurant Frantzén, followed by chef Rasmus Munk's Alchemist, in Denmark, and Andreas Caminada's Schloss Schauenstein in Switzerland.

Heston Blumenthal's three Michelin-starred restaurant, The Fat Duck, in Bray, was the top UK restaurant on the list, ranked 22nd, followed by The Ledbury in 32nd position - despite chef Brett Graham's recent announcement that the restaurant was likely to stay closed permanently

The Clove Club, owned by chef Isaac McHale, ranked 59th, two Michelin-starred Kitchen Table at Bubbledogs, led by James Knappett, came in the 68th spot. In 76th position is Jeremy Chan's brainchild, IkoyiCore by Clare Smyth ranked 81st, Michelin-starred Mãos, with exec chef Edoardo Pellicano at the helm in the 87th spot. Coombeshead Farm made it to the 93rd position on the list.

Tommy Banks' Black Swan at Oldstead came 140th, Mark Birchall's Moor Hall, singled out as the UK's top restaurant in the 2019 National Restaurant Awards, was ranked 149th. The final UK restaurant to secure a spot on the list was Tom Kitchin's eponymous Scottish restaurant, in 200th position. 

Along with the European list, OAD published its annual Europe Heritage list, where Restaurant Sat Bains ranked 67th, and its Europe Classical list, putting two Michelin-starred The Greenhouse in Dublin in the 30th spot. 

Sat Bains celebrated the news on Twitter, congratulating his team for its hard work: 

 

A spokesperson for The Greenhouse also Tweeted the news, and expressed the team's excitement to welcome guests back at the restaurants soon.
