Satan’s Whiskers in London has returned to number one spot in the reveal of the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars 2025.

The Bethnall Green bar, which has previously been crowned number one twice before in the past seven years, is back on top for this year, replacing last year’s winner, Manchester-based Schofield’s, which dropped back to number three.

Edinburgh’s Panda & Sons slotted in between at number two.

The list showcases the best cocktail spots in the UK recognised by an academy of expert voters, and this year sees 12 new bars entering the list, with the highest new entry Dram, in Soho, London, flying in at number eight.

Liverpool made its mark by returning to the list this year, with two new entries, Bar Glue at 38 and Sister Ray at 45. Newcastle also returned with Mother Mercy re-entering the list at 42.

The Isle of Man also joined the list for the first time with Kiki Lounge entering the top 50 at number 49.

Other winners on the night included Equal Parts in Hackney, London, which was named as One to Watch for the future, Little Mercies in Crouch End, London, was named Sustainable Bar of the Year, and the Hideout in Bath, number 9, was awarded the prize for Bar Team of the Year.

This year’s Rising Star was also named as Mandi Tabatabai, from the Cocktail Trading Co, who’s ability to connect storytelling with mixology wowed the judges at the final competition in London earlier in the year.

The event was hosted by cocktail and drinks expert Portia Freeman and took place at London’s Underglobe.

Ed Bedington, editor of The Morning Advertiser, which organises the Top 50 list, said: “We’re delighted to see Satan’s Whiskers back on top once again, marking the third time they’ve been voted number one. It’s clear to see from the dedication and passion of the team there that it’s found its rightful place on the list.”
