Rick Stein is set to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of his iconic The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, by returning to menu prices from 1975.

Available for a limited number of lunch bookings across some of Rick’s restaurants, namely Barnes (London), Winchester, Marlborough, Sandbanks and the flagship in Padstow, the deal will run between February 6-9.

How to Book the Special 1975 Priced Menu

The ‘rolled back and retro menu’ will include some classic dishes that featured 50 years ago, and available for 1975 prices.

Seafood lovers can enjoy dishes such as a shellfish soup starter for just 50p, followed by grilled lobster for £2.80 and desserts like treacle tart, priced at 35p.

Bookings can be made from 10am on Friday, January 24, via the Rick Stein Restaurants website.

There will be 25 tables of two across the five restaurants set aside for community nominations, allowing people to recognise someone truly deserving of this special lunch. You can nominate a friend or family member.

Rick, who was awarded a CBE in 2018 for services to the economy, said: “Reflecting on the past 50 years, we’re so grateful to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey - from our loyal customers, talented team, and wonderful suppliers. We look forward to all the celebrations this year!”

Rick is a popular face on TV, presenting several shows on BBC over the years, as well as releasing various cookbooks.

Co-owner Jill Stein OBE added: “Little did Rick and I imagine when we opened our doors in 1975 that we would still be here 50 years later, celebrating half a century of the iconic Seafood Restaurant.

“We hope to welcome you to join us in celebrating our Golden Year.”

Rick and Jill Stein have 10 restaurants, a pub, a cookery school, 40 guest rooms, self-catering properties and four shops.

The business is still very much family-run with Rick and Jill still involved, and their sons having leading roles. Jack Stein has been chef director since 2017, whilst Charlie Stein is a director, steering the business while creating extraordinary dining experiences with wine, personally choosing every bottle in each restaurant.

Ed Stein is also a director and leads on the group’s building and refurbishment projects.
