Michelin Guide UK 2022: Deletions

The Michelin Guide has released its guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2022 - adding 19 new one stars, 5 new two stars and one new three star to this year's list

Sadly, some restaurants also lost their accolades - whether because of a change of chef, or because they closed down altogether.

While all of the UK and Ireland's three star restaurants have retained them, the following restaurants are no longer Michelin-starred:

The Greenhouse in Dublin lost both of its stars following the departure of Mickael Viljanen - who helped earn two stars for Chapter One in this year's guide.

The one star restaurants struck from the list are:

Céleste at The Lanesborough
Simon Bonwick's now closed The Crown at Burchetts Green
Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, as the restaurant has been closed since last summer when Simon Radley stepped down. Elliot Hill has since taken charge as the new executive chef and is set to relaunch the restaurant as 'Arkle' in March.
Dom Robinson's Blackbird, which he has since relaunched as restaurant Renaissant
Reading's L’Ortolan, following the departure of chef Tom Clarke
Number One at the Balmoral, after Mark Donald left to join The Lalique Restaurant at The Glenturret Distillery last year, which itself earned a star in the 2022 Guide
Isle of Eriska
L’Ecrivain
Davies and Brook, from which Daniel Humm stepped away at the end of last year after Claridge's refused to move the offering to an entirely plant-based menu
