GG Hospitality has announced that The Rabbit restaurant will be closing next month.

Renowned Manchester-based restaurant The Rabbit is to close its doors next month, GG Hospitality has revealed due to a 'number of factors.'

Fine dining restaurant The Rabbit (formerly known as The Rabbit in the Moon), has revealed that it will close next month.
GG Hospitality, the hotel and restaurant company co-owned by former Manchester United footballers Gary Neville and Ryan
Giggs announced that the restaurant which is in Manchester will close on November 17th.

A spokesperson for the restaurant stated:

"The team at The Rabbit will be serving its last meal on the 17th of November.

"As a result of a number of factors, the trading figures for the restaurant do not justify keeping the operation open and the shareholders want to focus resources on the rollout of hotels which are ultimately the core of the business.

With effect from the 18th of November, the venue will be used for corporate and private events only. The team at The Rabbit will continue to operate the venue under the GG Events & Catering brand."

In a tweet from the restaurant's Twitter account, they said:

Chef Michael O’Hare who was previously the culinary director of the group stepped down earlier this year. The Rabbit is renowned for its unique culinary style which is often described as ‘space-age Oriental fine-dining’.

The restaurant opened in 2017 and underwent a relaunch in March 2018 following the departure of former head chef Luke Cockerill. It was tipped to win a Michelin Star in the 2018 Guide but missed out on the accolade, despite being included as a recommendation for its ‘innovative and eye-catching menu’.
