Claude Bosi, formerly of Hibiscus restaurant which had its two stars deleted from the Michelin Guide UK this year following its closure, will open Claude Bosi at Bibendum in spring 2017.

The site will undergo a full refurbishment following its closure in January 2017 reopening in the spring with a ground floor restaurant serving seafood and a new cocktail bar which will replace the Oyster Bar. Claude will serve his recognised Michelin-starred food in the first floor dining room as well as recreating some signature Bibendum dishes.

Claude Bosi said: “This is an extremely exciting adventure for me. After 20 years of living and working in the UK I’m looking forward to cooking my style of food in such an iconic building and putting my name above the door.”

This historic and listed building, which was originally HQ for Michelin in 1911, became a much loved restaurant, shop and office space in the mid 1980s. Sir Terence Conran and the late Lord Paul Hamlyn bought the iconic site becoming known as one of London’s best restaurants with some of the city’s best known chefs.

The restaurant will be open Wednesday to Sunday, while the ground floor will open its doors seven days a week.

The project is in partnership with Sir Terence Conran and Michael Hamlyn.

Claude’s Mayfair restaurant, Hibiscus closed its doors after nine years on October 1, 2016.
