This March sees the return of Fitzrovia’s The Ninth restaurant after a kitchen fire left the restaurant closed for over seven months.

Chef Patron Jun Tanaka and his team will reopen The Ninth, now in its eighth year, on the 9th March.

For those that know the restaurant it will feel reassuringly familiar, but Jun has used the opportunity to refresh the interiors, from the leather banquettes to the bathrooms and invested in new tableware to bring a more contemporary feel to the guest experience.

The Ninth remains a warm and inviting neighbourhood restaurant, and this March it reopens following some (albeit enforced) rest and rejuvenation.

On offer will be much-loved dishes from the menu such as salted beef cheek with sourdough, pickled radishes and dulse; langoustine ravioli with Merinda tomatoes and, of course, Jun’s signature pain perdu with tonka bean ice cream.

These sit alongside new dishes joining the menu, from tuna belly, Mojama and anchovy vinaigrette to venison tartare, Jerusalem artichokes and sour plums and pork cheek tortellini with lardo and salsa verde.

The entire kitchen and front of house team remain in place from prior to the closure, with some additional team members joining the fold too.

The Ninth previously ranked as one of the highest restaurants in the UK in the Best Places To Work In Hospitality awards, and has one of the most consistent kitchen and front of house teams in the business.

The Ninth will reopen on the 9th March for dinner, and for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday from the 10th March.

Reservations are now open online. The full reopening menu can be found here.
