Seasoned supports Pakistan flood effort

The devastating floods in Pakistan have prompted an independent caterer to encourage its team members to contribute to the aid effort with the company’s own charity doubling the donations.

London-based caterer Seasoned has asked its employees if they could spare a minimum of just £1 for the disaster appeal.

The Crown Foundation, the charity of the Crown Partnership of which Seasoned is a part, has pledged to match whatever is raised.

Colin Sayers, Managing Partner, Events, said: “I don’t think anyone could fail to be touched by the shocking images from Pakistan that are being shown on news channels. Our teams are always looking for ways to support charity efforts and it made sense to encourage them to contribute to this huge appeal.”

Floods in Pakistan have already claimed the lives of more than 1,200, including around 400 children. An urgent appeal has been launched by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to help the millions affected by the devastation.

The UK Government has committed £10m to the efforts and has also promised to match the first £5m raised through the DEC.

“People are losing their homes and possessions as well as being left without vital supplies of food and water. A pound doesn’t sound like much, but it all mounts up and the Crown Foundation will happily match what is raised by our teams.”

The Crown Foundation, set up more than 40 years ago, has already raised over £500,000 for various charity efforts, using the expertise within the Crown Partnership.

Colin said: “We are fortunate to have some very generous and considerate team members who are always happy to support what we are trying to achieve.”
