LONDON, SEPTEMBER 23, 2023/ The culmination of an exciting year filled with determination and success is due to be marked by McCain Foodservice Solutions [McCain FS] as they present a street food market where successful participants from their Streets Ahead Programme powered by KERB+ will trade this September.
The McCain FS Streets Ahead programme, supported by the KERB+ social enterprise aims to make a significant impact on the hospitality industry, dedicated to investing back by supporting a new generation of operators from less advantaged backgrounds. Together, they have nurtured the skills and street food business ideas of over 100 participants throughout the past 12 months.
12 ambitious participants were selected in June to receive investment from a £100,000 pot McCain FS dedicated to helping these new business ideas succeed in the Street Food industry. Since then, these 12 individuals have dived headfirst into bespoke additional coaching with KERB+, 9 of them gearing up to trade at a street food market at Gipsy Hill Taproom on Saturday the 23rd September hosted by McCain FS and KERB+.
Since winning, the participants have been attending workshops with KERB+ to get them market ready. They have been pushed to understand the fundamentals of market operations ready to put them into practice in less than two weeks.
“On behalf of McCain FS we're delighted to be able to support our first Streets Ahead cohort of successful hospitality entrepreneurs by creating an opportunity for them to trade at a bustling street food market. This gives participants hands-on experience in the food service industry, a chance to refine their new skills and is a celebration of the launch of their own street food businesses. We look forward to sharing this spectacular showcase of food and encourage others in the industry to come along and support them at the event,” says Mark Hodge, McCain Foods Marketing Vice President.
The event is ticketed at £10 plus booking fee for two portions so no one is stuck for choice and Gipsy Hill are throwing in a Free KERB lager, all proceeds will go to our dedicated new independent operators
