On May 17th, Harrods is delighted to bring the best of British talent and produce to the table with the arrival of world-renowned, Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton’s Harrods Social.
The most recent addition to Atherton’s The Social Company – and the first located
within a department store – Harrods Social by Jason Atherton will offer British cuisine in a relaxed yet elegant setting.
The 114-
seat (60 under current Covid restrictions) restaurant is a must-visit culinary destination that introduces Harrods customers to a
curated menu by the globally-acclaimed chef that showcases the finest of British produce and seasonal ingredients, offering dishes
including Cumbrian beef tartare, Devon crab, and South Coast halibut.
Jason Atherton’s culinary talent combined with the very best in locally sourced product are the key ingredients at Harrods Social.
At the heart of the restaurant lies a commitment to supporting local industries and sourcing produce that celebrates the best of
British provenance.
Dishes are made with produce from some of the UK’s top suppliers, including Wye Valley asparagus salad,
Cumbrian cob chicken with black truffle, Roasted Cumbrian lamb and shepherd’s pie, and Heritage breed fillet of beef.
Alongside
this is a selection of exquisite wine, Flying Pig cocktails and speciality coffees, as well as an indulgent dessert menu which features
Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée, Valrhona chocolate tart, and Olive oil sponge with Amalfi lemon curd, nougatine and yoghurt sorbet.
The elegant yet relaxed interiors of Harrods Social complement the menu, incorporating intricately detailed marble cornerstones,
atmospheric illuminated brass signage and textured leather upholstery.
The space is designed to offer customers an intimate,
comforting environment in which to dine.
Located within the lower ground floor, Harrods Social offers diners a modern and lively meeting point within Harrods
Knightsbridge, to eat, drink and socialise, for special occasions and informal everyday affairs.
Jason Atherton says:
“Harrods is the most iconic department store in the world. Its famous Food Halls stock an incredible array of the very best produce
from the British Isles, alongside one of the greatest wine shops in the world, the finest coffee, and of course, the brilliant Dining
Hall.
"We have shopped here for many years as a family, and to work alongside the amazing team at Harrods is so special.
"To bring The Social Company dining philosophy to this renowned location is a dream. At the forefront of the partnership has been
creating a menu that complements the shopping experience at Harrods and crafting a dining experience that matches the very
best London has to offer.”
Ashley Saxton, Head of Restaurants for Harrods says:
“After a tough year for the British restaurant industry, Harrods is proud to be standing alongside some of the brightest and best in
our national culinary scene, and we are delighted to be welcoming a chef of Jason’s calibre to Harrods.
"Following the launch of
Gordon Ramsay Burger, now Jason Atherton, and with more exciting faces to come, this is the next stage in our vision to bring
iconic British chefs to this iconic British destination.
"We are also re-opening our wider restaurants with the opportunity for customers to enjoy the Harrods Dining Hall until 10.30 from
Thursday – Saturday. The Harrods Dining Hall is one of the most historic and atmospheric parts of the store, with a truly world-class selection of restaurant propositions, so I am delighted that customers will now be able to experience Harrods Dining Hall
after-dark”.
