Baked In Brick Opens Its Fourth Neighbourhood Café, Bakehouse

Baked In Brick has opened Bakehouse in Digbeth, serving divine homemade bread, pastries, and baked goods

Baked In Brick has opened its café concept Bakehouse in Digbeth, becoming the fourth venue in Birmingham alongside Sutton Coldfield, Wylde Green and Broad Street.

Bakehouse’s menu will feature an array of sandwiches with homemade sourdough, daily changing salad options, overnight oats, as well as a selection of mouth-watering pastries, cakes and baked goods.

Alongside sourdough, The Bakehouse will offer a selection of artisanal bread including Bloomers, Rolls, Focaccia, and tin loaves, which will all be freshly made every day and available to pre-order for those who would like to go home with a few.

Guests will be able to choose from a selection of fresh juices, soft drinks and hot drinks, made with coffee beans from Quarter House, a local, independent coffee roaster.

All of The Bakehouse’s treats are available to enjoy at one of the venue’s eight tables or can be taken home. Each table has access to plug sockets and free wifi, ideal for hybrid workers who are after a change of scenery and artisanal delights, as well as businesses looking for a cosy event or meeting space for small groups.

Friday and Saturday evenings will see The Bakehouse host pop-up events, including wine and cheese nights.

The Bakehouse will also sell Cacklebean eggs from the family-run Cackleberry Farm, which is nestled in the Cotswolds countryside, near Stow-on-the-Wold. The free-range eggs are also used in the bakery’s recipes.

Keeping the treats sweet, will be Digbeth Honey, taking locally sourced to a new level, with the bee hives found on the roof of the Custard Factory, opposite Bakehouse.

Lee DeSanges, Owner and Director of the Baked In Brick group, said “Opening The Bakehouse just a stone’s throw away from our Digbeth restaurant is a full circle moment for us after having branched out into different areas in Birmingham. We’re looking forward to broadening our Digbeth footprint and once again joining the other amazing venues in the neighbourhood.”

“We’re so happy to be continuing to work with independent, ethical businesses such as Quarter House, Cackleberry Farm and Digbeth Honey, and to not only support the welfare of their producers and livestock but also to offer our customers the very best produce available.”

The Bakehouse can be found at Gibb Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B9 4AA and is open Monday – Friday: 8am – 4pm; Saturday: 9am – 4pm; Sunday: 10am – 4pm.
