Tom Sellers to re-open The Lickfold Inn next month

The Staff Canteen
Tom Sellers will open his latest venture, The Lickfold Inn, on December 12. Tom is the chef patron of Restaurant Story in London, which opened in 2013 and immediately earned a Michelin star, along with phenomenal critical acclaim. wp38cda0c9_05_06Referring to his new enterprise as a modern, independent pub with traditional values in the heart of West Sussex, Tom said: “I grew up in pubs, and have fond memories of the happy atmosphere of a favourite local. I want to bring back The Lickfold with big impact – introducing some of my own cooking style but still respecting the legacy of a real, proper pub.” Graham Squire will be head chef at The Lickfold Inn. He has previously worked in London at both Trinity and Bistro Union and Claridges. He will be working under one of the country’s most exciting chefs in Tom Sellers. Tom won his first Michelin star at Restaurant Story at the young age of 26 and just five months after opening. Previously, and briefly, The Lickfold Inn was owned by celebrity broadcaster Chris Evans, but has been closed since August 2010. There has been a huge campaign to ‘save The Lickfold’ drawing support from the local community with campaigns online and on social media. Finally, Tom, alongside a local investor, is restoring the pub. The ground floor will be very traditional. It will be open throughout the day serving craft and local beer, a range of modern and traditional cocktails and a range of snacks. The upstairs dining room, seating up to 36, will be open for lunch and dinner with a modern British menu, incorporating ingredients from the bounty of local specialist suppliers. By Tom Evans
