Simon Rogan’s Henrock reveal plans for week-long anniversary celebration

Simon Rogan’s restaurant Henrock have revealed plans for a week of celebration to mark their fifth anniversary next month.

Situated at Linthwaite House in the Lake District, Henrock executive chef Paul Burgalières and head chef Mark McCabe have created a special menu that celebrates the traditional fifth anniversary gift of wood.

They have used the natural bounty that grows in and around British woodlands, including mushrooms, truffles, nuts, fruits, flowers, woodland herbs, and wild venison. Sample dishes include “Cartmel Valley venison blackened apple tart and begonia”, “Roasted Hen of the Woods, Bay shrimp and oxalis” and “Birch sap syrup, cherry blossom poached cherries and cobnut slice”.

The celebrations will take place from October 16-20.

Simon, MBE, has made Lake District the home to a number of restaurants, including three Michelin-starred L’Enclume.

To further mark the occasion, Linthwaite House and Henrock have teamed up to offer a unique celebration package, which includes one night’s luxury accommodation, a specially created welcome drink and tasting menu at Henrock, and breakfast cooked by the Linthwaite House kitchen team the next morning.

Meanwhile, Linthwaite House’s team will present hotel guests with bespoke gifts from carefully selected, highly respected local producers.

The hotel group, owned by global traveller and entrepreneur, Analjit Singh, operates luxury properties in South Africa and Europe.

He would go on to build up a firm friendship with Simon, laying the foundations for the subsequent opening of Henrock. The restaurant has since gone on to receive national acclaim, including recognition in the Michelin Guide, and has welcomed thousands of diners from across the world.

In line with Simon’s farm-to-table ethos, each seasonal ingredient has been carefully selected, nurtured and grown a few miles, alongside produce carefully sourced from some of the UK’s best suppliers.

Analjit, The Leeu Collection’s owner, said: “The teams at Linthwaite House and Henrock by Simon Rogan are thrilled to be able to celebrate their five-year-long partnership and evolution. Both are committed to making sure every guest’s experience is personal and memorable.

“The continued success and ever-developing relationship is a testament to this dedication and commitment. Unsurprisingly, as a result, Linthwaite House as part of the Leeu Collection and Henrock within Simon’s Lake District restaurant portfolio has successfully nurtured excellent relationships with their guests, welcoming people from all over the world as they stay and dine with us in the iconic surroundings of the English Lake District.”

Sam Ward, Umbel Restaurant Group’s managing director, said: “The last five years have flown by, and during that time both Henrock and Linthwaite House have continued to evolve and to grow, becoming firm favourites with hotel guests, local diners as well restaurant and hotel lovers from further afield.

“Our combined teams work so well together, focused entirely on ensuring that every guest is looked after from the moment they set foot in the hotel and restaurant, to the moment they leave. It’s so gratifying to see what can be achieved when hospitality teams work together in pursuit of the same objective.’’

Celebration package prices start from £555 based on two adults sharing in a classic double room on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
