Robert Potter announced as executive chef at The Manor House

The Manor House, an Exclusive Hotel and Golf Club in Castle Combe, near Bath, has announced the appointment of Robert Potter as Executive Chef at the luxury 5-star country house hotel. Robert joins The Manor House from Lucknam Park where he has led the team at the Michelin starred The Park Restaurant for the last three years under the guidance of Executive Chef Hywel Jones. Speaking of his new appointment, Robert said: ‘’I’m delighted to be joining The Manor House and to be a part of Exclusive Hotels and Venues, a group I have long admired for its culinary excellence and ethos of great food being central to the overall guest experience. Rob Potter The Manor House"The Bybrook restaurant at Manor House has a fantastic culinary reputation, with its rearing of pigs, chickens, quails and ducks onsite as well as access to a well-stocked kitchen garden, so to be given the opportunity to make my mark on the dining experience at this iconic country house hotel is something I’m really proud of and excited by.” Prior to his current Head Chef role at The Park, Robert was Head Chef at Michelin-starred gourmet gastropub The Royal Oak Paley Street in Berkshire under Dominic Chapman and prior to that, Sous Chef at Lucknam Park. Robert will take up his position at The Manor House in February 2016 following a six week refurbishment of the kitchen starting in the New Year. Robert is an extremely talented chef with an expert touch and a visionary eye, coupled with outstanding knowledge of the local area and an understanding of what diners at The Manor House expect, so we’re looking forward to our dining offering taking on a new path under his leadership and direction.”

Before his first role at Lucknam Park, Robert was Sous Chef at The Dial House Hotel in Bourton-on-the-Water and Junior Sous Chef at The Fairlawn’s Hotel in Aldridge. Robert began his chef career at The Bay Tree restaurant in Birmingham after completing a catering NVQ Level 3 at Walsall College of Arts & Technology in the West Midlands and brings over 15 years’ experience to The Manor House. The Manor House is a 14th-century country house hotel located in the charming village of Castle Combe on the outskirts of Bath, featuring 48 elegant and individually designed bedrooms, private function rooms for meetings and special events and an award-winning 18-hole championship golf course.
