Restaurant Sat Bains reveals plans to celebrate 25th anniversary

Two Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms has revealed plans to celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year.

October 5th will mark the milestone for Sat since opening in Lenton Lane, Nottingham.

The past 25 years have seen the restaurant awarded two Michelin stars in 2011, before a Green Michelin star in 2021, given for restaurants at the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices.

In that time, Sat has also published two cookbooks.

Despite suffering a major heart attack in 2020, Sat’s vision and dedication to the development of his restaurant remains unwavering.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of RSB, Sat and wife Amanda are set to host a dinner series titled ‘Sat in the Kitchen with…’ which will see a number of star-studded guests come through the doors, with some past dishes set to be reimagined on the menu.

Kicking off on October 10th, a team of alumni including Gareth Ward (Ynyshir, two Michelin stars), Tom Spenceley and Harry Cordon (The Ledbury, three Michelin stars) and master sommelier Laurent Richet will host a dinner remembering their work together.

Some of Sat’s closest friends will then take part in subsequent months, including Michel Roux Jr on October 18, Sat having won the 1999 Roux Scholarship.

Chefs Clare Smyth, Paul Ainsworth, Angela Hartnett, Nathan Outlaw, Daniel Clifford, Claude Bosi, Tom Kerridge and James Martin will then follow, with more names to be confirmed.

Tables for Sat in the Kitchen will be bookable via the restaurant’s website from September 12th.
