Lines will be open from 17 March to reserve your spot at Ting restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, At the Shard, London which opens in May. Ting, the restaurant and lounge, is situated on Level 35 and opens on 6 May which is the same day as the hotel also opens. Lang, its patisserie and artisan deli on the ground floor will open to the public on 6 May but does not require prior booking while Gong, London’s highest champagne and cocktail bar on level 52, opens in July. The Shangri-La brand is worldwide with more than 80 hotels falling under its banner of five-star deluxe properties including establishments in Australia, Hong Kong and France. Ting is so named after the Chinese word for ‘living room’ and will be situated 128 metres above ground level with the area able to showcase 360-degree views of the vibrant city of London. The restaurant will open for breakfast (6.30-10.30am), lunch (12-2.30pm) and dinner (6-11.30pm) with a modern European menu combined with a hint of Asian flavouring, created using the finest local market and regionally sourced produce. Signature dishes will include hand-dived scallops from the north-west Highland coast cooked a la plancha and served with carrot, ginger and a light yuzu and grape seed oil dressing and organic Welsh lamb from Rhug Estate, glazed with mirin, sake and soy sauce, served with root vegetables and Kentish apples. The lounge will offer a distinctive a la carte menu of authentic Shangri-La Asian specialities including curry laksa, “Hainan” chicken rice and char koay teow. Overseeing all three venues within the Shard will be executive chef Emil Minev who boasts 25 years of experience and is formerly of Shangri-La properties in Tokyo and the Maldives.
