Onyx in Budapest awarded two Stars in the Michelin Guide Main Cities of Europe 2018

Onyx in Budapest has been awarded two Michelin stars as has Konstantin Filippou in Vienna. 58 restaurants across 36 European cities have also been awarded a Michelin star, increasing the total of one-star restaurants to 380 in this year’s guide. The Main Cities of Europe 2018 has 58 newly awarded Michelin stars, raising the total to 380 one star restaurants throughout Europe.

Michelin has unveiled the 37th selection of the Michelin guide Main Cities of Europe in a prestigious ceremony in Budapest. The new guide covers 36 cities throughout  20 countries and recommends a total of 2,108 restaurants

Onyx in Budapest has been awarded two Michelin stars,  led by Ádám Mészáros who combines  ‘tradition with innovation’ adding a contemporary twist to traditional Hungarian dishes.

Four years after winning its first Michelin star, the restaurant Konstantin Filippou has been awarded a second star.

Michelin's International Director Micheal Ellis says: “With its creative, modern cooking style, Konstantin Filippou, who trained in a number of famous restaurants around Europe, offers his customers a sophisticated cuisine with well-balanced flavours and plenty of finesse, a cuisine which worth a detour!” 

Four other restaurants were awarded a Michelin star in Vienna which includes Blue Mustard, Das Loft, Pramerl & the Wolf, and SHIKI.

Fifty-nine Bib Gourmands have been added to the Michelin guide Main Cities of Europe 2018, bringing this to a total of 295.

Published in English, the Michelin guide Main Cities of Europe is aimed primarily at business travellers who regularly journey throughout Europe, but it is also ideal for leisure guests wishing to discover Europe’s most romantic and culturally stimulating cities. Alongside written descriptions of every establishment, the guide features useful information including city maps.
