- 15g fresh yeast(A)
- 250ml milk(A)
- 450g plain flour (B)
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda(B)
- 1 tsp salt (B)
- 1tbsp marmite(B)

oooer missus. no, not that sort of crumpet you filthy monkey.
lovely for afternoon teas.
Ingredients
Method
incorporate (A) together, so the yeast is fully mixed with the liquids.
by hand, in a large bowl add (B) until completely combined. should form a thick batter.
using 7-8cm metal rings, pour the batter into a lightly greased,pre-heated nonstick pan over a medium heat. cook for 7-10 minutes until small holes appear on the surface and the bottoms have formed a lightly browned crust.
removethe rings and turn over. cook for 1-2 minutes further, then cool on a wire rack until ready to serve.
toast and smother in butter (and more marmite if you fancy)
