Tom Sellers' Restaurant Story offers one night only menu

London based Restaurant Story, owned by chef Tom Sellers, is hosting an exclusive one night only dinner next month. Aptly named “Mission Sato”, after head chef Angelo Sato, the event will be taking place at Restaurant Story in Bermondsey, on Monday 10 August 2015. Tom-Angelo-Frank-Story low resTaking influences from his exotic career throughout Japan, New York and here in the UK, Angelo will be presenting his inspired dishes to all diners during this pop-up event. He will prepare a 13 course tasting menu that will showcase his personal culinary style and influences from his Japanese-German background. Dishes include ingredients from the sea such as trout, squid and scallops. Meat from the land in the form of beef, duck, and chicken and a few mysterious plates; Mother’s Favourite and Snow White apple. Angelo began his career in Japan, working at two Michelin starred restaurant Les Créations de Narisawa, under chef Yoshihiro Narisawa. Famous for his ideology of respect for the environment, Narisawa created dishes such as ‘soil’ soup and ‘water’salad.

Moving up, Angelo stepped into RyuGin, a three Michelin star restaurant that embraces the culture of Japan in every ingredient, every dish and right down to the antique furniture. Working under Clare Smyth at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay was where Angelo started in England. He went on to meet the future owner of Restaurant Story, Tom Sellers, during his time at Trinity in Clapham. Before he took the decision to stay in London, Angelo flew to New York to work at the fine dining restaurant, Eleven Madison Park. Returning in 2013 to open Restaurant Story with Tom.Angelo-Restaurant-Story low res Within the space of ten months, Restaurant Story achieved its first Michelin star, and Angelo found himself at a head chef position. The restaurant orientates its dishes around seasonal produce. Their ethos is to source local fresh ingredients. “Mission Sato” is expected to cost around £100 per head, including a matched wine flight by Seamus Sharkey, the head sommelier.
