Nick Edgar recruited as head chef of The Samling Hotel

Nick Edgar joins Michelin star restaurant The Samling Hotel from his previous role as head chef at the two Michelin-starred Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. nick edgarNick started at Raymond Blanc’s famous hotel and restaurant in 2000, rising his way up through the ranks before becoming Head Chef in 2013. He has been head chef at one of Europe’s most famous restaurants however Nick believes that The Samling offers him a superb opportunity. He said: “I am so excited about my new position as head chef at The Samling hotel, I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my career at this wonderful hotel. The ambition The Samling has is what attracted me to the position; their aim to be on the highest level of gastronomic experiences and become a food destination for the whole of the U.K would excite any young ambitious chef.” General Manager of The Samling, Alasdair Elwick, believes that the appointment of Nick is key to a successful future for the hotel. He added: “I am delighted to have recruited one of the UK’s best chefs. Nick brings a wealth of experience and ability to the role. When you combine this appointment with the talent of the current team, exciting times lie ahead for the hotel.” Gary Jones, Executive Chef at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons was also pleased with the appointment saying: “We are delighted by his new appointment at The Samling which will give him the opportunity to showcase his impressive skill set. We are proud to have played a part in his evolution as a leading young talented chef in the UK.” Chef Patron of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons Raymond Blanc, OBE also commented on the appointment “Wishing him every success for his future development in the natural and abundant surroundings of the Lakes, at The Samling………….Bravo Nick.”
