Celebrated Irish Chef Anna Haugh will take Monica Galetti's place as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals 2022, after the chef owner of Mere restaurant announced that she would not be taking part in this year's series

Welcoming Anna to this year's cast, MasterChef UK said she would bring "a wealth of culinary expertise and experience" to the show, working alongside Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace on the BBC Programme.

Earlier this month, Monica Galetti, who has been a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals for 14 years, said that it was with "a heavy heart" that she had made the decision not to be a part of the series this year, as she felt it necessary to prioritise her family and her restaurant team, given "just how tough" the hospitality industry is at the moment.

She hinted that she would be returning for future series.

Anna Haugh is the chef and owner of Myrtle restaurant in Chelsea, London. She started her career at Derry Clake's Dublin restaurant, and has since worked for the likes of Gualtiero Marchesi, Shane Osborn and Phil Howard. She was a head chef at Gordon Ramsay Holdings before flying solo to open her own site in 2019

Anna has become a familiar face on television, having acted as a guest judge on Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen, starred as part of the relaunch of Ready, Steady, Cook, and makes regular appearances on Saturday Kitchen.

The chef said she was "very proud" to announce that she would be filling in for Monica, and that it would be "a great honour" to work alongside Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace.
