On October 23, 2017, Michelin released its 2018 list of Bib Gourmands for New York City.

This year 127 eateries across five boroughs of NYC were awarded Bib Gourmands in the new guide with 65 restaurants in Manhattan, 37 in Brooklyn, 15 in Queens, seven in the Bronx and three in Staten Island.

Michael Ellis, international director of the Michelin Guide said: “Michelin inspectors have been eating their way around New York’s five boroughs for more than 13 years and every year they are inspired by the inventiveness and imagination of the city’s chefs.

“From Flushing to the Bronx, the Bib Gourmand restaurants represent 127 establishments where diners can enjoy quality ingredients, quality cooking and fair prices.”

This year sees an influx of Mexican eateries awarded Bib Gourmands including El Molcajete and Patron both situated in the Bronx and Enrique Olvera’s Atla Calidad which serves contemporary Mexican cuisine.

Elsewhere 21 Greenpoint, Miss Ada and Pok Pok NY in Brooklyn are newcomers to the list while Bunker retains its designation despite moving to a new location in Bushwick.

In Manhattan ChouCho, Hao Noodle and Tea, Luzzo’s, Norma Gastonomia Siciliana, Tfor and Atla are new to this year’s edition as is Dumpling Galaxy situated in Queens.

The 14 new restaurants spotlighted in this edition help round out a list of more than 120 restaurants where it is possible to enjoy two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less (tax and gratuity not included).

The 2018 Michelin-starred restaurants for New York City will be released on Monday, October 30, and the Guide will go on sale from November 2, 2017 at $18.99.
