Chef Director James Golding has announced he will be leaving THE PIG hotel Group.

Announcing his upcoming departure on his Instagram account, in a now deleted post, James Golding, who’s spent more than 12 years working at the multiple award winning hotel group, explained that he would be leaving the group to start a new position that he would announce in the future.

Commenting on his departure in a now deleted post, James said: “After almost 14 years it’s now time for me to move onto the next chapter!! It’s been an incredible ride and I’ve loved every minute of my time at THE PIG.”

He added: “I wish the whole team well with their future endeavours! Watch this space for updates and where to see me next!”

Who is James Golding Chef?

James started his culinary career as a commis chef at The Savoy when he was a student on the specialised chef course.

He spent three years at The Savoy mastering all areas and gaining a firm grasp on classical French cooking before gaining the role of chef de partie at Le Caprice, where he worked under Mark Hix and later Elliot Ketley.

James was then placed in charge of the sixth floor restaurant at Soho House, New York. In 2006 he returned to the south coast to work as head chef at Harbour Heights in Sandbanks.

In 2009 he started work at Whitley Ridge, which then became THE PIG in 2011.

His dishes are uncomplicated and simple British garden food, micro-seasonal and influenced by the forest and coast with the emphasis on fresh, clean flavours.

As it stands, James' next move is not yet known, with THE PIG group yet to announce their new chef director.
