Not long after maze Grill on Park Walk has opened the Gordon Ramsay Group have treated us to another maze Grill - this time on Royal Hospital Road in the heart of Chelsea. The third in the family, at the former site of Ramsay’s Foxtrot Oscar, maze Grill Royal Hospital Road is relaxed, accessible, open all day and takes its inspiration from the grill rooms of Manhattan but with a distinctly British approach.
maze Grill is a stylish space with a menu specialising in dry aged prime steaks – from British rare breed rump to grain-fed 10oz USDA and Japanese Wagyu fillet. Taking equal billing is a range of expertly made-to-order, contemporary sushi and sashimi dishes delivered direct from the raw bar. A selection of small plates, from smashed avocado to tuna devilled eggs, is ideal for sharing or light bites.
Small plates of perfection
Delicately filled with on-trend ingredients and umami flavours, the sushi and sashimi is not to be missed at maze Grill. Expertly assembled to order from the dedicated raw bar, signature creative choices include scallop sashimi topped with salmon caviar, shisho ponzu and frozen yuzu freshly grated at the table; and tuna tartare rolls with chilli, garlic, avocado, sesame oil and crispy rice pellets.
Steak your claim
Fired up to 400°C, the grill delivers impeccably juicy and carefully charred steak like never tasted before. Choose from a wide range of cuts from British native and rare breeds as well as US grain-fed and Wagyu. Whether you choose rib-eye, rump, fillet, sirloin and a chateaubriand for two (all dry-aged from 21 to 28 days and beyond) each will be cooked exactly how you like it. Other grills include Herdwick lamb chop, salmon fillet and baby chicken with a host of comforting mains – short rib burger, bone marrow pie – also available.
A sweet deal
Must-try desserts include frozen lime yoghurt with toasted meringue and the Monkey Bread – a cinnamon swirl-style pastry – flipped and unveiled at the table, dripping in caramel, topped with pecans and served with vanilla ice-cream.
Is available is the maze Grill’s brunch menu, served from 10am onwards, featuring dishes such as grilled ham and eggs, smashed avocado on sourdough toast, and fresh fruit with frozen lime yoghurt.
Open all day, seven days a week, pop in for a quick lunch looking out on the terrace from the light-filled ground floor, enjoy a Friday night dinner date in an intimate booth downstairs, or spend Sunday lunch with the whole family – this is neighbourhood dining at its best.
