Gareth Bartram to leave Michelin-starred Winteringham Fields after nine years
Announcing on his Instagram account, Michelin-starred chef Gareth Bartram will leave Winteringham Fields the Lincolnshire Restaurant with rooms where he’s been part of the team for nine years.
Gareth said “To say I’m going to miss Winteringham Fields is a massive understatement as I have loved every minute of my time here, but the time has come to move on and explore new opportunities”
Gareth began his career in a local butchers shop where his mum worked. His career then took to him multi Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay’s Box Wood Cafe in London when he was 19 years old for a short stint before returning home to local hotel before taking a role at “Jack’s” in Corsham, where Gareth worked for three years and further developed his love for all things meat!
After dining at Winteringham Fields on his wife’s birthday he asked owner Colin McGurran for a job! Gareth worked his way through the ranks after a successful trial, and after four years Winteringham Fields won a Michelin star, which along with four AA Rosettes it still holds today.
Gareth ,who is set to leave at the end of February 2024, will be replaced by the current Sous Chef James Nicklin. James has worked at Winteringham Fields with Gareth for the last four years.
Taking to their Instagram account Winteringham Fields said in a statement: “He (Gareth) has played a pivotal role to shape our culinary identity”
The team at The Staff Canteen would like to wish Gareth, James and everyone at Winteringham Fields the best of luck in their new chapters.
