Chris Penn raises £11,000 for Hospitality Action

The Staff Canteen
In aid of Hospitality Action, Chris Penn, Managing Director of Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, has successfully swum the English Channel and has raised over £11,000 in the process. Chris, who has been a passionate supporter of Hospitality Action for many years, completed the challenge on Wednesday 2nd September after months of intense training, swimming four hours in the dark. Less than 2,000 people in the world have swum the Channel making this a truly incredible feat. Penny Moore, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action said: “We are so pleased to have Chris safe and back on dry land! What he has achieved, both personally by completing
this challenge and financially for the charity, is simply amazing.hospitality action logo “We want to thank Chris for all his considerable efforts and all those who have donated towards this marvellous adventure.” To make a donation, no matter how large or small, visit: www.justgiving.com/Christopher-Penn/ or text CPCS99 £1 to 70070 to donate £1. Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
