Changes to The Staff Canteen

Some of you may have noticed some subtle changes to The Staff Canteen already  such as a new header bar, this is just a small change to unify the site and the APP, and will form part of a wider change to improve navigation and remove clutter that we're working on! Good by shop, like all businesses we're always looking at what works and what doesn't and sadly the shop doesn't so we've removed it. Over the next few months we'll deliver a number of changes, some very small and some to the coding which will see us change the platform which the current The Staff Canteen is housed on, for the geeks out there, we are moving from WordPress to Ruby on Rails - the same platform that houses both Twitter and Groupon, it's flexible and scalable and will allow us to grow and develop much quicker and easier. You’ll notice that the HA penny per click graphics on the  banners have been removed, this doesn't signal the end of our support for the Charity, in fact quite the opposite, look out for a new APP based campaign coming very soon. At this stage we are keeping our major development plans under wraps, but are delighted to be working with Ethos Digital from Cardiff, who have guided the site since November and have created an exciting development plan for The Staff Canteen for the short, medium and long term, which we are looking forward to delivering! Watch this space. We’re looking forward to sharing all of the exciting changes with you. It’s to make it even easier for you to find products like chef clothing and knives as well as find the perfect industry jobs for you.

Our Editorial team have a critical role to play in informing and supporting our audience in a balanced way. We would never put up a paywall  – The Staff Canteen is open to all and we want to keep bringing you the content you want; more from younger chefs, more on mental health, more tips and industry knowledge, more recipes and more videos.
