Adam Braithwaite has been made head chef of Ocean Restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel
Adam Braithwaite has been Promoted to the head chef position at Ocean Restaurant at the Atlantic hotel in Jersey
Adam will be working alongside executive chef Will Holland, appointed to the role in 2017, to oversee the operations of the 13-strong brigade. Will was previously head chef of the Coast in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Adam and Will have an extensive history together, first working together over 10 years ago at La Bécasse in Ludlow. Adam then moved on to the Samling Hotel, Windermere, and the Isle of Eriska, Scotland, before the duo reunited when Will moved to the Atlantic hotel and set about creating his team there, asking Adam to join him.
They would go on to start on the same day five years ago.
Will also states that they wouldn't have achieved what they had if not for the hard work of Adam, calling him "the ultimate right-hand man."
This appointment will also be the first time as executive chef that Will will have a head chef working alongside him.
Adam's promotion was announced by Will on his social media and in the post, Will said: "I’ve promoted many Chefs throughout my career, but this is the most important and significant promotion I’ve ever made. It’s also the most deserved promotion I’ve ever made.
"The loyalty, dedication, passion, resilience, graft, commitment and respect that Adam has given over the years is next level. I couldn’t ask for more from my number two. He is the rock of the kitchen and keeps everything moving."
