Three restaurants join the four Rosette list and 11 gain a third Rosette in the first AA Restaurant Guide 2017 announcement, the next will be in September.

Fourteen restaurants will be celebrating the new awards from Glasgow to the Channel Isles. While London sees five restaurants awarded multi rosettes, the North of England is well represented with four restaurants gaining a higher level of rosettes.

the-black-swan-at-oldsteadThe Black Swan at Oldstead in Yorkshire, the Five Fields in London, and Manchester House in Manchester all won four Rosettes. As a result of this latest accolade, The Black Swan is now the only restaurant in Yorkshire and the North East to hold the highly sought combination of 4 AA Rosettes and a Michelin Star.

Head chef and owner of Michelin-starred The Black Swan, Tommy Banks, told The Staff Canteen there are a lot of projects in the pipeline for himself and the restaurant in 2016, he said: "Getting four Rosettes is an awesome way to start what is set to be an exciting year for The Black Swan. "It's a great achievement for all of the team and we are really ambitious here so accolades like this are very important to us."

On gaining a fourth rosette Aiden Byrne from Manchester House took to Twitter and said: "A great start to the year. Well done to the team on achieving 4 AA rosettes."

On the three Rosette list were: A Wong, London SW1 Avista, London W1 Cambium, Careys Manor, Brockenhurst, Hampshire The Dial House, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire The Gannet, Glasgow The Hare Inn, Scawton, Yorkshire Lake Road Kitchen, Ambleside, Cumbria Lumiere, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Orrery, London W1 Portland, London W1W Tassili, Grand Jersey, St Helier, Jersey

Simon Numphud, Head of AA Hotel Services, said: "The restaurants receiving the multi rosette awards should be duly proud of their achievements.   The four rosettes restaurants can now classify themselves as among the top restaurants in the country where cooking demands national recognition. Those with three rosettes are outstanding restaurants that demand recognition well beyond their local area offering sympathetic treatment of the highest quality ingredients with consistent timing, seasoning and judgement of flavour.  Around just ten percent of the restaurants in our guide have three rosettes."
