The McCain Streets Ahead Programme, powered by KERB, is transforming lives through street food.

By breaking down barriers to employment, we’re helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds - refugees, prison leavers, young unemployed individuals, and those experiencing homelessness - take their first steps into the vibrant world of street food.

Creating Opportunity Through Food

Since launching three years ago, Streets Ahead has made a powerful impact:

  • 40+ charity referrals supporting diverse communities
  • 185+ individuals given access to KERB Classroom
  • 32 new businesses launched with programme investment
  • £241,000 invested into participants’ food ventures
  • 103 prison leavers introduced to the programme

From hands-on coaching to startup funding, the programme provides practical support to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their passion into a sustainable business. The journeys of people like Hind, Eli, and Levi prove that with the right mentorship and opportunity, food can be a gateway to a fresh start.

What’s Next?

McCain is renewing the Streets Ahead Programme for another three years, ensuring even more individuals can benefit from skills training, business coaching, and funding to bring their food dreams to life. With an expanding network of partners and a commitment to inclusivity, we’re shaping the future of hospitality - one street food vendor at a time.

Find out how Streets Ahead is making a difference.
