John said: "We believe that Thai food is not simply defined by its ingredients but by the considered balancing act of complex flavours synonymous with the cuisine – salty, sweet, spicy and sour – and the recognition that these flavours can be found in the natural British larder.

"Our wine list champions British and European producers that cite excellent craftsmanship at the forefront of grape growing, harvesting and wine production. These handcrafted wines are made with love and respect, ensuring each bottle has a story to tell and is alive with energy and flavour."

John's journey

John's culinary journey began with his training at Le Cordon Bleu in London, followed by working at several renowned restaurants, including Nahm in Bangkok and Som Saa in London.

His expertise in Thai cooking and passion for using locally sourced British ingredients have earned him recognition and a Michelin star for AngloThai.

Accolades

AngloThai received its first Michelin star in the 2025 Michelin Guide three months after opening.

This recognition highlights the restaurant's high-quality cooking and innovative approach to blending Thai flavors with seasonal British ingredients.
