The Wild Rabbit is the Michelin Pub of the Year 2015

The Wild Rabbit has been announced as the Pub of the Year in the 2015 edition of the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, within the charming and tranquil village of Kingham. The building dates from 1750 and after a thorough renovation It opened in September last year, and has gone from strength to strength attracting both locals and guests from around the world. Carole Bamford, owner of The Wild Rabbit said: “This award is a great credit to the whole team and in particular head chef, Adam Caisley and Graham Williams, general manager.  It was very unexpected and I am so proud to have achieved this in our first year of opening." Adam's imaginative dishes using local ingredients and organic produce, have ensured that the restaurant is always full, with people coming back again and again to try the ever-changing seasonal menu. Rebecca Burr, Editor of the guide said “This Cotswold pub is a chocolate box delight: stylish yet rustic, spacious yet cosy, it offers a convivial welcome, knock-out bedrooms and, of course, first-rate food”. The new Bar and Terrace menu caters for those who would like a light bite and includes goujons of sole, potted rabbit and crisp pig’s head croquettes whereas the on the fuller main menu you might find hare ravioli or a Gloucester Old Spot for two. The restaurant combines the traditional British country-dining scene with modern innovative design. The kitchen is open so diners can see for themselves how food is prepared, and the charcuterie counter attracts some attention. The atmospheric private dining room, ‘The Chicken Shed’ seats up to 20 and has its own wood burning oven and kitchen for a private chef.Rebecca also noted the rooms at The Wild Rabbit, of which there are 12, eight in the main house and four in the outbuildings where dogs are welcome. She said: “They are beautifully appointed, with rugged wood flooring, stone walls, exposed beams and extras like cotton robes and homemade biscuits”.
