Who is chef Ollie, MasterChef: The Professionals 2022 contestant?
Ahead of MasterChef: The Professionals 2022, which airs on BBC One every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 november, we find out more about the chefs taking part.
Introducing Ollie, a sous chef at Northcote, Langho near Blackburn, Lancashire.
He has previously worked at Gidleigh Park, The Fat Duck, and The Oak Room at Adare Manor.

Where are you from/where do you live?
Born in Preston, and Devon has been a big part of his life, with family also from there, and whilst working at Gidleigh Park. Ollie has also lived in Ireland (for three and a half years whilst working at Adare), as well as Scotland and the Lake District. He now lives in Clitheroe in Lancashire.
What type of a chef are you?
Sous Chef
Do you have a favourite type of cuisine?
“I think I have a clean style with minimalist plating, and of course great flavours. I don't like to overcomplicate anything. I’m a classically trained chef with a modern approach to fine dining.”
How did you become a chef?
“Just like lots of people I’m sure, I cooked with family growing up as a child. My gran was always a big inspiration for me and I have lots of memories of cooking with her. I guess that’s where it all started.”
What is the highlight of your career?
“I’ve been a part of two teams who have won their first Michelin stars and this for me has given me a huge sense of achievement.”

Why did you want to take part in MasterChef: The Professionals?
“MasterChef: The Professionals is an extremely prestigious competition and I feel I’m ready to compete. I know I can work well under pressure so it’s time to test that at the next level.”
