Two new 2 starred restaurants and 14 new 1 stars for the Michelin Guide Switzerland 2018
The full list for the Michelin Guide Switzerland 2018 has been announced with Einstein Gourmet in St. Gallen and Taverne zum Schäfli in Wigoltingen receiving two stars and 14 restaurants join the one star category.

New to the one star list include Japanese restaurant, The Chedi in Andermatt; Locanda Barbarossa in Ascona; Löwen – Apriori in Bubikon; Tosca in Genf; La Chaumière by Serge Labrosse in Genf/Troinex; Stiva Veglia in Ilanz/Schnaus; Weiss Kreuz in Malans; Café Berra in Monthey/Choëx; Regina Montium in Rigi Kaltbad; Die Rose in Rüschlikon; IGNIV by Andreas Caminada in Sankt Moritz; Torkel in Vaduz (Liechtenstein); Table de Mary in Yverdon-les-Bains/Cheseaux and Rigiblick in Zürich.
"The standard of Swiss cuisine continues to be particularly high: Switzerland is still the country with the most Michelin-starred restaurants per capita," says Michael Ellis, International Director in charge of the Michelin guides. "In less than ten years, the quality of the gastronomy has steadily improved, with the number of star-rated restaurants increasing by 40% between 2008 and today".
There are no new three stars in this year’s guide but Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl, B. Violier – Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville and Schauenstein each retain their stars.
With Einstein Gourmet run by German chefs, Sebastian Zier and Moses Ceylan and Taverne zum Schäfli by Christian Kuchler each achieving two stars this year they join an elite list of chefs and restaurants before them. The total number of two starred restaurants in Switzerland now comes to an impressive 19.
With new stars also comes the deletions list with 14 restaurants losing their stars this year including the former two starred restaurants Bumanns Chesa Pirani in La PuntChamues-Ch. and focus in Vitznau.
With the new additions, Switzerland now has 118 Michelin starred restaurants.
Elsewhere, 30 restaurants received bib gourmands for delivering exceptional dishes at reasonable prices.
