Tristan Downes has taken up the position of Head Chef at London's Rondo restaurant following his departure from The Light bar London.

Rondo announced Tristan Downes’ new role on social media following news that he left East London’s The Light Bar restaurant earlier this year.

Located in Holborn, central London, Rondo is an independent neighbourhood restaurant, offering seasonal, modern bistro dishes and great wines.

Commenting on his new role via social media, the restaurant said: “We’re so pleased to announce that Tristan Downes is joining us at Rondo as Head Chef!”

Rondo added: “Tristan brings with him a wealth of experience and an honest, local, sustainable style of cooking, with a real focus on showcasing the very best of British produce as well as being semi-finalist for National Chef of the Year 2021-2022 - one of the most prestigious awards in catering.”

The restaurant serves bold British dishes, whilst it’s wine wall features many of Europe’s most exciting winemakers, with several available on tap.

Confirming a new menu on the back of Tristan’s appointment, the restaurant added: “We hope you’ll all join us in wishing him a very warm welcome. Keep your eyes peeled on a brand-new menu coming very soon.”

Before joining The Light Bar, Tristan previously held roles at Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Craft London and Youngs; as well as being a semi finalist for the National Chef of the Year 2021.
