North Yorkshire pub The Abbey Inn has been named as the best place in the UK for a Sunday roast in the Good Food Guide.

They have listed the 50 best roasts across the country, after 18,000 public nominations and anonymous inspections.

And The Abbey Inn, a pub with rooms run by Tommy Banks in Byland, has come out on top.

A post from the pub on Instagram read: “We’re incredibly thankful to all our guests who voted for us, and we feel very lucky to be able to serve such a unique roast, lovingly prepared using produce from our farm.

“Including our pigs, sheep and cows plus a variety of vegetables, ferments, preserves and more all made a matter of metres from The Abbey Inn.”
