Singapore is set to lose its only three Michelin-starred restaurant when the renowned Joel Robuchon Restaurant closes its doors for good at the end of this month. Its sister outlet, the two-starred L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, will also close, although initial reports have revealed that this may be restarted at a different location.

Both restaurants were included in the inaugural Michelin Guide Singapore which made its debut in 2016 and will serve their last meals on June 30, less than a month before the Michelin Guide Singapore unveils its 2018 list on July 25.

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) who runs a string of fine-dining restaurants under Joel Robuchon’s name around the world have confirmed the closure have said that they will be releasing a joint statement in collaboration with the acclaimed French chef.

The loss of this iconic Michelin-starred restaurant is certain to be a blow to Singapore’s fine dining scene after chef-owner Andre Chiang left Singapore to return home to Taiwan and shut the two-starred Restaurant Andre back in February

Joel Robuchon Restaurant’s kitchen is currently run by head chef Kim Joinie-Maurin who joined the restaurant last year. He has previously worked for Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Chef Vianney Massot has been at the helm of L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon's kitchen since November 2017 and has previously worked as Second de Cuisine at the three Michelin-starred Robuchon au Dôme in Macau.
