This week's round-up: New Openings in Bath, Manchester, and London
A NATIONALLY-RENOWNED burger chain expanding to the south west and an International franchise making roots in manchester are among this weeks roundup.
Legado
Renowned chef Nieves Barragan Mohacho is opening Legado, a second Spanish restaurant in London.
Located in Shoreditch, the restaurant will offer diverse ingredients, dishes, and dining traditions from across Spain and is Nieve's 'largest project to date.'
Speaking on Legado, she said: “I have been planning this restaurant in my head for so many years - practically since we opened Sabor - so it is a truly a dream come true to finally bring Legado to life.
"Legado is my story, my legacy, but also my love for my home - for Spain, for its incredibly diverse cultures, and for all the passion, intensity, and flavour to be found within.
"No matter how much I travel in Spain, there is always something new to be discovered, a new story to be told, a new legacy to write…"
Legado is set to open in summer later this year.
Big Mamma
Another big name opening a new restaurant was Big Mamma.
The European franchise will open Circolo Popolare in Manchester this June.
The French-based company operates a number of Italian-led restaurant brands such as Gloria Trattoria, Ave Mario, Jacuzzi, and Carlotta.
The menus feature an array of Italian classics such as Neapolitan pizzas, fresh pasta, and impressive desserts.
Big Mamma co-founders Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux added: "Our ten-year Big Mamma adventure has continued to surprise and challenge us, and we couldn’t think of a better restaurant that encapsulates everything we strive for than the joyful and atmospheric Circolo Popolare, in the vibrant community-driven city of Manchester.
"Having visited Manchester multiple times to find this unique spot, we have both been bowled over by the sheer plethora of hospitality talent within the city. We are hugely excited to be even a small part of this, and to bring our superb Italian products we spent three years personally sourcing to another major European city."
The Beefy Boys
Established more than a decade ago, four guys from Hereford decided to launch ‘The Beefy Boys’, a chain of restaurants taking the UK by storm.
Now, the burger restaurant has opened its doors to Bath.
A launch party was held on March 6 at the new site with live music, burgers and their classic thick shakes.
The Beefy Boys shared details about the restaurant's interior, including iconic burger drawings on the windows, booth seats, and a striking 'license to grill' neon sign.
They also announced a soft launch period from February 10 to March 5, during which diners could enjoy a 20% discount in exchange for honest feedback.
ARA
Chef patron, Murat Kilic has announced the launch of Ara, an all-day dining restaurant.
This will be his third restaurant for the award-winning chef, located in the Aldgate East area of London.
Murat launched successful café/bistro, Route in Dalston in 2012 and then Amber, also near Aldgate East, in 2018.
Guests can expect dishes including grilled potato flatbread with homemade cultured butter, mussels skewers with roasted chicken wings in butter sauce, blackened leeks with muhammara and XO sauce.
The new 76-cover restaurant is set to open on May 1 later this year.
