The Galvin brothers announce Bistrot de Luxe will close next month
Chris and Jeff Galvin have today announced that Galvin Bistrot de Luxe will close on February 10 2018.
- Which other restaurants do the Galvins own?
- Why did Richard Turner announce Turner's at 69 will close?
In a joint email statement, the brothers who opened the restaurant in 2005, said: "It is with great regret and a heavy heart that Jeff and I must inform you that Galvin Bistrot de Luxe will cease trading on Saturday 10th February."
They explained that it has not been an easy decision and closure is 'predominantly due to many events outside our control', they said: "We are no longer able to remain competitive on quality and price - our original goal - yet remain a viable business at the same time."
It follows yesterday's news that Richard Turner has closed Birmingham's Turner's at 69 amid a number of casual dining closures already this year.
Galvin Bistrot de Luxe is the pairs first joint venture and they now have ten restaurants and pubs including Galvin at Windows which continues to retain its star in the Michelin Guide.
They added: "On behalf of Galvin Bistrot de Luxe we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued and unwavering loyalty in choosing us over the years. Without your support our success would simply not have been possible, but in the current business climate we have been left with no option but to close down."
They have stated that all staff will be found new positions within the group.
