Sager + Wilde collaborate with Typing Room for one night only
The Town Hall hotel on Patriot Square, Bethnal Green, will be overtaken by Typing Room’s innovative style of cooking and wine connoisseurs, Sager + Wilde, for an eight-course tasting menu on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Chef Lee Westcott, renowned for his European cooking style, will be joined by Michael and Charlotte Sager-Wilde for an evening of culinary delights and wonderfully paired Californian wines.
The Typing room, which opened last May in the Town Hall Hotel, will play host to the event. The menu, costing £150 for the evening, will feature luxury dishes made with seasonal British ingredients.
The collaboration features some of the best, emerging talent in East London, putting it on the foodie map. Sager + Wilde are esteemed for their contribution in the growing trend of wine focused bars around the capital.
Charlotte Sager-Wilde is looking forward to the collaboration. She said: “We love how Bethnal Green is emerging not just as a neighbourhood but also as a new destination for food and wine. With this dinner, we will show how Lee’s precise cooking can be beautifully matched with our wines at Sager + Wilde.”
Lee’s eight-dish menu will feature a dish of mackerel, passion fruit and kohlrabi, and a celeriac, foie gras, mustard and walnut dish to be paired with a rare selection of Sager + Wilde’s finest wines.
The Edwardian town hall building has been restored under the direction of Rare Architecture, and opened its doors as the Town Hall Hotel in 2010. The hotel is set to be the perfect location for the event, offering a great experience in the east end of London.
The event will take place between 6pm and 10pm. The £150 fee will include an eight-course meal, with carefully selected wines and included service.
