Roganic Hong Kong lands a Michelin star in 2020 guide
Roganic Hong Kong is the latest of Simon Rogan's restaurants to earn a Michelin star, as the local guide announced the new winners yesterday.
With executive chef Oli Marlow at the helm, Roganic Hong Kong, located in Causeway Bay, received the accolade less than a year after it opened.
Simon Rogan's restaurant group now holds five Michelin stars, with two for L'Enclume and one for both his London Marylebone restaurant, Roganic, and for Rogan & Co in Cumbria.
The chef told the South China Morning Post he was "very happy" for his team.
"They worked very hard. It’s nice to be part of the Hong Kong food scene, which is an amazing food scene. Watching the ceremony, it’s nice to put a face to a name.”
The chef also shared the news on social media, saying he was "really happy and thankful" to earn a fifth Michelin star for their "humble little restaurant group."

Other recipients of new stars in the Hong Kong and Macau guide included Petrus - under new executive chef Uwe Opocensky - as well as Julien Royer's Louise at PMQ. Both Andre Chiang and Arbor were awarded two Michelin stars.
In total, the 2020 Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau counts 10 three Michelin-starred restaurants, 19 two-star restaurants and 61 one-star restaurants.
International Director Gwendal Poullenec said; “there is no doubt Hong Kong and Macau are homes of many culinary talents,”
Both cities have their own identity, but are quite similar when it comes to the quality of the cuisine, which is world class.”
