Renowned Irish chef Richard Corrigan is set to open another London restaurant in April 2022.

The site, designed by the team behind Berlin's Soho House, will be located on the Hawley Wharf in Camden Basin, a new 580,000 square foot canalside development featuring shops, bars, restaurants, a food market and a Curzon cinema.

Speaking to The Irish Independent, the Michelin-starred chef owner of Corrigan's Mayfair, Bentley's and Daffodil Mulligan said that he was "up to [his] eyes" with designers and builders on the site, describing Camden as an area which has gone from being "a bit of a tourist hole" to another London hub.

The restaurant will feature two rooftops, one of which will seat 120, with an additional 50 on the terrace.

"It is all about great food – bakery, smokery, craft beers – and it is going to be something really very special,” he said.

Despite a difficult few years for hospitality businesses in the capital, Richard remains ambitious and positive when it comes to opening restaurants, echoing the sentiment expressed in an interview with The Staff Canteen earlier this year.

"I'm an eternal optimist,” he said at the time. “I see opportunity in every storm. That's what I've always done. Every business I've opened, I've opened in the middle of the depression.

"And yet we're still there, blowing into the sails, keeping it going."
