Paul Evans achieves 3 Rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide 2018 for The Burlington Restaurant
Paul Evans, former senior sous chef for Lords of the Manor Hotel which currently holds one star in the Michelin Guide UK, has achieved 3 Rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide 2018 for The Burlington Restaurant at The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Bolton Abbey.
For his first head chef position at The Burlington Restaurant, Paul recieved 3 Rosettes from the AA Restaurant Guide 2018, the highest possible grading he could achieve. This places the hotel restaurant within the top 10% of all restaurants in the UK which have been graded by the AA’s rosette scheme.
Paul said: “The 3 AA rosette rating is a real accolade and it’s good to be recognised by the AA Restaurant Guide in this way, and yet it reflects the work of the whole kitchen team to be fair. It’s been so good for me that I have had excellent support in place from the whole team from the word go...”
Paul joined the 40 bedroom hotel in July from his previous role as senior sous chef for Lords of the Manor Hotel in the Cotswolds, which currently has one star in the Michelin Guide UK along with 3 rosettes from the AA Restaurant Guide. He's also gained experience working for other Michelin-starred establishments including L’Enclume, Waterside Inn at Bray and The Crown Inn at Whitebrook.

General Manager, Adam Dyke commented: "We are delighted to round off an outstanding year by retaining our 4 red stars and achieving our highest ever AA merit score. For the Burlington team to be awarded 3 AA Rosettes is the icing on the cake and particularly impressive seeing as Paul has only been in the business for 4 months. We are now very excited to see what 2017 will bring, however our main focus remains our loyal guests and their requirements.”
