Friday, January 22 2016 saw the first night of Obsession 16 take place at Northcote. The first night was undertaken by Jean-Luc Rocha - see the night in pictures here:

Jean-Luc Rocha is on a mission to bring French haute cuisine into the 21st Century. The two Michelin-starred chef describes his menus as having ‘soul and heart’ – his contemporary menus blending quality local produce with a multitude of influences, as he himself acknowledges: “The Medoc is a land of immigration and inspiration where all nationalities and cultures cohabit.”

Rocha took charge of the Chateau Cordeillan-Bages in 2010. Renowned for its fine Medoc wine, the estate recently earned a gold Best of Wine Tourism 2016 award in Bordeaux. At the age of 30, Rocha achieved the status of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

In 2011 he joined Grandes Tables du Monde and in 2015, the sole in Gironde, the chef received four hats by Gault&Millau. Jean-Luc Rocha is the co-author with Jean-MichelCazes and Kinou Cazes of ‘Lynch- Bages & Cie – A Family, A Wine andn 2 Recipes’, which won the 2013 Philippe de Rothschild literary prize.
