By James Euinton New York burger chain Shake Shack are currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of their first store opening in Madison Square Park. They are holding a cookery showcase with a group of iconic chefs to create five special edition burgers that will be exclusively available at the Madison Square Park Shack until Friday, June 13th.

The full line-up includes Daniel Boulud (DANIEL, Café Boulud, DB Bistro, Bar Boulud), David Chang (Momofuku), Andrew Zimmern (Andrew Zimmern's Canteen, Bizarre Foods America), Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park, The Nomad), and British born April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig, The Breslin, The John Dory Oyster Bar). Each chef will be making a different burger with a variety of ingredients. The first to feature is Daniel Boulud’s “Piggie Shack” burger, with BBQ pulled pork, jalepeño mayo, and mustard-vinegar slaw.   Some of the burgers include more unconventional ingredients, such as Goat Meat (Andrew Zimmern’s “Cabrito Butter Burger”), Shrimp (David Chang’s Momofuku Shrimp Stack) and Truffle Mayonaise (Daniel Humm’s “The Humm Burger”).

The burgers will be available to the public throughout the week, with some of the proceeds going to Madison Square Park Conservancy and NYC Parks. The event will also feature a birthday cake made by prestigious pastry chef Dominique Ansel. All of this will be accompanied by live bands and entertainment on the day. Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti said, “We're honoured to collaborate with this extraordinary group of innovative chefs”. The company has a history in fine dining, originally created by restaurateur Danny Meyer of the Union Square Hospitality Group. It was originally launched as part of the 2004 redevelopment programme for the Madison Square Park area. Shake Shack opened its first UK Restaurant in July last year, in Convent Garden, London.
